Start with the slow end, because it matters here. One postcode in nineteen, 5.2 per cent, cannot reach 10 Mbps. Superfast fills in most of the rest at 89.4 per cent, though that still leaves the area around eight points behind the UK norm of about 97 per cent of premises. Gigabit-capable coverage, at 58.9 per cent, misses roughly two postcodes in five.

Fibre to the premises has barely begun in the recorded data. Across Gwynedd the figure is 2.3 per cent, and among the twenty-six outward codes only SY20 shows a meaningful build, with fibre at 46 per cent of its postcodes. LL21, LL23 and LL33 record none. With that much variation packed into one aggregate, anyone comparing addresses will get further with the code-level pages than with this average.

The speed mix shapes what households can realistically plan for. Most postcodes can get something above 30 Mbps, which handles ordinary streaming and calls without drama. The four in ten without a gigabit-capable option have little headroom to grow into, and the one-in-nineteen below 10 Mbps face genuine limits on daily use. SY20 is the exception worth knowing about, with nearly half its postcodes able to order full fibre now.
