The practical takeaway differs by situation. Established households on working connections have little to worry about. Movers, and anyone whose income depends on bandwidth, should weigh individual postcodes rather than county averages, because the spread across 33 outward codes is considerable.

Two thirds gigabit coverage cuts both ways for buyers. Where it is present, Wiltshire addresses can match urban speeds. Where it is not, the fallback is whatever the local network provides, and with superfast at 92.4% that fallback is usually adequate rather than generous. The 2.5% below 10 Mbps deserves the most scrutiny during a purchase, since those addresses have no easy fix.
