Fibre is the district's strong suit. At 70.2 per cent of its 2,997 postcodes, coverage edges past the national premises figure, and WS7 pushes much further, recording fibre at 92.6 per cent. B74 and WS13 sit in the mid seventies. The laggards are relative rather than absolute: B79 and B75 both record around 43 per cent, and only DE13 shows nothing. Full fibre marginally outstripping gigabit availability, 70.2 against 69.8 per cent, is a quirk the dataset records without explaining. Superfast, at 90.7 per cent, actually trails the UK norm by several points, and 2.4 per cent of postcodes remain below 10 Mbps. So Lichfield pairs an above-average top end with a slightly frayed middle and bottom, a shape few districts share. Eleven outward codes sit behind these figures, and most of them hold up well.

The mix favours households chasing the fastest tiers. In most of the district a full fibre order is realistic, and in WS7 it is close to universal. The frayed edges matter for the minority they affect: one postcode in forty-two falls below 10 Mbps, and DE13 addresses have no recorded fibre route at all. Between those extremes, superfast lines keep the remaining addresses at workable speeds.
