Broadband in Havering

The numbers line up unusually neatly. Superfast reaches 97.7 per cent of Havering's 4,848 postcodes, a touch above the national norm. Gigabit-capable and full fibre coverage both come in at 89.6 per cent, some twenty points clear of the UK full fibre figure of about 69 per cent of premises. When those two measures match, fibre itself is supplying the gigabit availability rather than cable filling gaps.

Coverage inside the area is consistent too. RM12 leads at 93.6 per cent fibre, with RM5 and RM11 fractionally behind on 93.3 and 93.2. The exceptions sit at the edges of the coverage table: RM4 records 57.9 per cent, while CM14 and RM15 show none at all. And with the below-10 Mbps share at zero, the slow tail that drags on so many areas simply does not register in Havering's data.

This is a rare case where the aggregate can mostly be trusted street to street. Thirteen outward codes cover the area, and the three best all clear nine in ten postcodes for fibre. Anyone in CM14 or RM15 faces a different market, with no fibre recorded and other networks carrying whatever speed is available. Everywhere else, a full fibre order is more likely than not to go through first time.
