Broadband in Hackney

Hackney's gigabit and full fibre figures are identical at 91.3%, so the two footprints coincide exactly in this data. Superfast is broader still at 98.8%. The outward-code table has a clear top and bottom. N5 reaches every postcode, with E15 and N1 both coming in above nineteen postcodes in twenty, while EC2M sits at just half, and E1 and E9 a little above eight in ten. That EC2M figure is the borough's outlier; nothing else recorded drops below eight in ten. For a renter or buyer the odds are strongly favourable. Better than nine postcodes in ten have a full fibre line recorded, and the exceptions concentrate in a handful of codes rather than scattering across the borough. Fifteen outward codes, one weak spot, and a fibre rate most of the country has yet to reach at its 2026 average of roughly 69 per cent.

Fibre this widespread changes the household calculus. Moving within Hackney rarely means giving up a full fibre line, given 91.3% coverage. The practical exception is EC2M, where only half of postcodes show fibre. Households there still have the borough's 98.8% superfast blanket to fall back on, so the question in that code is top speed rather than basic coverage.
