Full fibre appears as zero for the area despite the high gigabit number, so the fast connections being counted are best understood as cable network coverage. The overall shape is a strong top end with a small set of postcodes stuck at the bottom.

For most households the mix here is favourable. Almost nine in ten postcodes can take a gigabit-capable service, which removes speed as a constraint for the bulk of the area. Superfast coverage of 95.1% keeps the typical postcode well covered in between. The 2% below 10Mbps is the caveat: one postcode in 50 cannot manage much beyond basic browsing, and averages will not reveal which one.
