The headline figures pull in opposite directions. Superfast availability reaches 92.5% of postcodes, several points shy of the national norm of about 97%, and 12.7% of the area's 4,952 postcodes fall below the 10 Mbps line Ofcom uses as its floor for a decent service. That is a big gap for the households caught in it.

At the same time, full fibre has plainly arrived for much of the area. RG22 leads with fibre past 91.1% of postcodes, RG23 follows at 85.5% and RG29 at 83.3%. Three of the sixteen outward codes, GU34, SO21 and SO24, show no full fibre at all in the data. Fibre coverage overall, at 67.8%, sits within touching distance of the UK average near 69%. Gigabit-capable services reach 68.1%, so where the network has arrived, top-tier speeds usually came with it.

Address-level variation this wide changes how you should read the averages. A postcode in RG22 and one in SO21 can sit in the same comparison table yet offer completely different realities, one with gigabit on tap, the other struggling past 10 Mbps. Anyone moving within Basingstoke and Deane should weight the specific postcode far more heavily than the district-wide figures suggest.
